Voices for Change Domestic Abuse Advocacy UK is committed to promoting the safety, wellbeing, dignity, and protection of all individuals engaging with workshops, events, advocacy discussions, educational content, and community activities.
The organisation recognises that adults and children affected by domestic abuse, coercive control, trauma, and emotional harm may be vulnerable and require safe, respectful, and trauma-informed environments.
Our Safeguarding Commitment
Voices for Change aims to:
provide emotionally safe and respectful spaces
promote trauma-informed practice
respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns
encourage dignity, empowerment, and non-judgement
maintain professional boundaries and ethical conduct
signpost individuals to appropriate specialist services where needed
Safeguarding Concerns
Safeguarding concerns may arise where there is reason to believe that:
a child is at risk of harm
a vulnerable adult is experiencing abuse or neglect
there is risk of serious harm to self or others
criminal activity or immediate danger is disclosed
Where appropriate, concerns may be reported to relevant safeguarding authorities, emergency services, or specialist agencies.
Confidentiality and Safety
Voices for Change respects privacy and confidentiality wherever possible. However, confidentiality cannot be guaranteed where:
safeguarding concerns arise
there is immediate risk of harm
disclosure is required by law
Participants are encouraged not to share highly sensitive personal information within public group settings.
Workshop and Community Safety
All participants are expected to:
communicate respectfully
avoid abusive, discriminatory, or harmful behaviour
respect the wellbeing and boundaries of others
contribute to maintaining safe and supportive environments
Voices for Change reserves the right to remove individuals whose behaviour compromises the safety or wellbeing of others.
Scope of Support
Voices for Change provides advocacy, awareness, education, wellbeing discussions, and signposting support only. The organisation does not replace emergency safeguarding services, crisis intervention teams, healthcare providers, or statutory agencies.
